I’ve seen my share of themed bar crawls in my day.  Pirates . . . angels . . . minimalistic clothing.  Often these were done on a small island I lived on in which every bartender would  arrange for the same day off to hit up every bar on the island.  Make sense of that if you will.

Soi 11 Sukhumvit gave me a first though.  After a night of checking out the rooftop bar from the Hangover 2 and its vastly inflated prices, my friends Emma, Jeremy, and I proceeded to Soi 11 to the Nest, another rooftop bar in the east of the city.

Sukhumvit 11 has always got some characters and is home to some of the most popular nightlife mixtures in the city.  Street bars like Cheap Charlies and parked vans mix with Australian pubs and with high-end should to shoulder dance clubs.

Along the walk to the Nest, we were heckled by an incoherent gaggle of bar crawlers costumed for the night in the guise of armours made of cardboard.  Or maybe cardboard robots?

Bad picture, I know.  But the only one I took.  And a funny one, I think.

Hi all, my name is Ben. I’m a native Michigander with a passion for human culture and new places, and more than that, new experiences. I have degrees in archaeology and writing, pursuing a career in the latter. However, I never quite lost that fascination for archaeological theory. For the past 11 years, I’ve been living and travelling between Asia, Europe, and North America, documenting ancient sites and the peoples who built them, and then adapting them into practical archaeological travel information at PathsUnwritten.com. https://pathsunwritten.com/about-me/
